First Visit Expectations

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child first sees a dentist between the ages of six months to a year.

We understand first steps can be scary, but with our trusting team it doesn’t have to be.

Your child’s first visit isn’t just about us getting to know them, it is also you getting to know us! We are happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about our practice.

During your child’s first visit our team will ask some questions about their medical and dental history. Certain medical conditions or medications can impact their treatment plan, so we will also ask you to list any medications, vitamins, and supplements they are taking and their dosages.

Our doctors will then perform a comprehensive oral exam, which may include dental x-rays. They will also check for cavities and look for developmental problems. One of our staff members will also go over proper brushing and flossing techniques with you and your child. Once your child’s exam is finished, our doctors will discuss their findings with you. Together, you will create a treatment plan to give your child a healthy, functional smile.

We pride ourselves on providing quality, affordable services. We accept a variety of payment methods and we can prioritize and stagger your treatments to give your child the amazing smile they deserve in a timeframe you can afford.

At Kern Kids Dental, we want you and your child to feel relaxed during your visit. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable!

I am extremely impressed with the staff and the doctor! They took time to sit down and talk with me and they went out of their way to make sure my daughter felt safe and comfortable. As someone who had horrific dental experiences as a child, I am so grateful to find a good dentist for my daughter!
